What is Accelerate and what do we do?
Accelerate is a membership program of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILTA). It is a membership group which comprises of young professionals within the Transport and Logistics industries. The Accelerate program was created in an attempt to allow young people who work, or study, in these industries to network with one another and develop their professional careers.

Within each section of CILTA there is a Accelerate committee which organises Social events, Training and Development seminars, arranges speeches and presentations by respected Industry leaders and generally caters for you to have a great time. If you work in Logistics or Transport and would like to meet other young professionals in your line of work who also love to have fun, Accelerate was made for you!

In 1996, a Young Supply Chain Professionals Group of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA) was established to assist in the professional development of young people entering the industry.  The YSCP aims to provide its members with career development and networking opportunities, and also awards scholarships and prizes to outstanding young professionals in the industry.  Not long after its establishment, a small group of RMIT students took over the subsidiary group to enhance the appeal of the organisation and cater for the needs of young professionals.

The YSCP group has since been driven by young proactive professionals and continues to grow in size and stature, due to events such as the Supply Chain Careers and Professional Development Fair, Thought Leadership Program and Freight Connections. The group has been involved in organising and coordinating activities that bring members together to network, learn and gain exposure to mentors, career development and other opportunities available in the industry.

Supply Chain Management is fast becoming the career of choice for many tertiary qualified individuals, as more and more organisations understand the importance of the supply chain to business success.  Each year the YSCP/CILT (Victorian Section) along with other professional bodies are working together to be a unifying force to maximize supply chain excellence synergies in the Australasian Region by profiling emerging professionals in the industry.

In 2006, the YSCP group became the Accelerate group to maximise its appeal to "the young", be the link between young professionals and leading Supply Chain organisations, and fast track the development of our future leaders.

Absolutely, we've been around for many years, having been established in the mid 90's, and we've grown to a member-base of many young professionals just like you: looking to have a good time and make connections that will see them excel in their careers. We're in it for the same reason. We're young, driven and we love meeting people and having a good time. Accelerate allows us, and all our loyal members, to do exactly that. There's no catches, no surprises, no nasty spam, nothing like that. Even becoming a member is hassle-free and quick. We keep your name and contact detail because we need to contact you and we don't give it to any other parties or organisations. This is the real deal!
